Founded in 1985, Clinique Nouveau Départ–EHN Canada offers specialized services to people with addiction issues such as substance use disorder, behavioural addiction, and other disorders. The clinic treats not only addictions, but also the concurrent mental health disorders that some individuals experience. 

Since October 2017, Clinique Nouveau Départ has joined EHN Canada, a national leader in the treatment of addiction and mental health conditions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide patients with planned care and evaluations 
  • Take vital signs 
  • Preparing patients for diagnostic tests (blood samples, x-rays, etc.) 
  • Administer medications after ordering and preparing (dressing, cream, intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous) 
  • Intervene in emergencies or crisis situations and promptly notify the physician or duty doctor when the patient’s general condition deteriorates, when the state of consciousness deteriorates, if there are signs of intoxication and signs of impaired cognitive function, or any other physical abnormality or vital signs change 
  • Document the observations made on the patient’s condition and their reactions to the interventions listed in the treatment plan; inform physicians of the patient’s condition 
  • Perform the following acts: breath testing, screening, blood tests, vaccination, wound care, urine tests, IVs, etc 
  • Conduct suicidal risk assessment and withdrawal scales (alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepines) 

Requirements : 

  • Degree in nursing 
  • Be a member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ) 
  • Have an interest in dealing with substance abuse or other addictions and/or mental health conditions 
  • Have a calm personality and ability to listen and empathize 
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team 
  • Speak fluently French and have functional English 
  • Possess an addiction certificate and/or relevant experience

Job Description: 

The customer service representative plays an important role as the person who ensures the first contact with a vulnerable clientele. He or she will have to provide information about the care and services offered by the clinic, our procedures, and eligibility criteria. 

This person will have to obtain the relevant information in order to respond adequately to requests for treatment. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to calls and emails requesting information 
  • Provide information on programs and services available at the clinic 
  • Meet, assess needs and open administrative records of new patients 
  • Welcome and accompany patients and their relatives throughout the admission process 
  • Proceed to admissions; visit the site, educate on process and rules 
  • Complete the required admission documents: consents, service agreements, etc. 
  • Collect program payment from patient or sponsor 
  • If necessary, ensure follow-up with the family, referents and others 
  • Respond to requests from current patients 
  • Set appointments for different care and services of the patient program 
  • Monitor patient records every week in collaboration with the
    Finance Director 

Requirements: 

  • College diploma or equivalent degree 
  • Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written) 
  • Great capacity for empathy 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the team 
  • Innovativetake initiative and has an autonomous spirit 
  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Good knowledge of computer systems

Oncall Attendants: day, evening, night and weekend 

The Clinique Nouveau Départ–EHN Canada is currently seeking an attendant available on call, day, evening, night and weekends. The position is in effect until this announcement is removed from our Careers page. The details of the job are offered below. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Accompany patients in their daily activities 
  • Helping patients who do not have full autonomy accomplish tasks 
  • Accompany patients during outings for medical examinations, walking, personal shopping, etc …) 
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, including laundry and room cleanliness 
  • Follow the instructions of the nursing staff 
  • Control the personal effects of patients 
  • Caring for luggage and personal effects of patients upon arrival and departure 
  • Assist patients in attending therapy sessions 

 

Requirements: 

  • Obtaining a DEP-Assistance for health facilities 
  • Demonstrate a positive and collaborative attitude 
  • Autonomous and resourceful 
  • Excellent planning skills and a calm demeanor 
  • Ability to connect with patients 
  • Strength for physical tasks 
  • Master French and English 
  • Have knowledge of mental health and addiction (an asset)

Responsibilities: 

Under the authority of the clinical director, the therapist is responsible for meeting patients individually and in a group and initiating a therapeutic process with them. 

  • Maintain a continuum of all services offered to patients, in collaboration with the attending physician; 
  • Make individual meetings with different patients; 
  • Animate group meetings 
  • Write various reports with supporting documentation; 
  • Participate in meetings of the interdisciplinary team; 
  • Participate in various trainings and workshops related to the position; 
  • Maintain relationships with the family, relatives, employer of the patient; 
  • Ensure planning of the aftercare phase (short, medium and long term). 

  

Requirements: 

  • Registration with your professional college 
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience as a therapist 
  • Have experience with a clientele suffering from addiction and mental health conditions 
  • Mastery of French and English  
  • Demonstrate a positive and collaborative attitude 
  • Excellent communication and listening skills 
  • Able to adapt to a variety of situations 
  • Able to work in stressful situations and resolve conflict 
  • Possess leadership and autonomy
